Wide receiver A.J. Brown's farewell address to the NFL universe is not holding well as he might have expected, as it has left the NFL community divided over his statements.

While having a conversation with the New England Patriots’ reporter during his visit to the Patriots' training facility, A.J. Brown stayed mum over the reporter's question about his farewell message to the Philadelphia Eagles fans.

“I’m not going to get into that. I appreciated my time in Philly, you know? I’m where my feet are," he said. "That’s the only thing that matters.”

Ahead of the 2026 NFL season, A.J. Brown was traded to the Patriots in return, the Eagles received a 2028 first-round draft pick and a 2027 fifth-round draft pick.

Even after the win-win scenario for both the franchises, Brown’s refusal has left the fans in distaste as his refusal to address the situation again portrays his egoistic behaviour, per Anthony Miller of Inside the Iggles.

According to Miller, the Eagles have moved on from him, and Brown is making statements about his trade to the Patriots, but the fans expect something more from him.

The 2019 drafted WR was signed with the Eagles in 2022. During these four seasons, Brown has maintained his production.

Per Pro Football Reference, Brown has appeared in 62 games while covering 5,034 yards he scored 32 TDs.

With his gameplay, he has gained a huge fanbase. But his farewell message and associated statements have left a void in the hearts of fans.

His statements have not only hurt the fans but also solidified the claims around the deteriorating relationship with Jalen Hurts.

Jalen Hurts Breaks Silence on A.J. Brown’s Recent Remarks

Finally, quarterback Jalen Hurts broke his silence on the comments made by A.J. Brown ahead of his trade with the New England Patriots.

"I'm not in the place to challenge anyone's perspective on anything, seemingly so it was," Hurts told the reporters. "That's who I am. I've always been focused on the collective. I've always put my energy towards that. As a leader…”

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Sarah Barshop, Mike Reiss, Daniel Oyefusi, and Tim McManus also shared similar thoughts.

"A good bit of his angst stemmed from the play of Hurts, league sources said, in part because of Hurts' perceived reluctance to target Brown on tight-window throws against zone coverage," they said.

Based on the suggested rumors and collective thoughts of the NFL pundits, it was evident that the pair has its set of differences due to the QB play on the field.

Hurts maintained the decorum of the locker room and talked about the positive side of their relationship, keeping the focus on the team rather than the rumors.
