With the Dallas Cowboys focused on strengthening their defense ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, Arvell Reese’s post has intensified speculation about a potential move.

Reports and analysts suggest Dallas could target the Ohio State Buckeyes standout to bolster their linebacker unit.

And Arvell Reese’s Instagram story has feuled those speculations. The linebacker posted a snapshot captioned, “rentals in Dallas?” That has ignited the chatter, whether he is already planning a future with America’s Team.

Per Brandon Loree, staff writer of Blogging the Boys, Reese may have been in town for a brief stay to get trained under Brandon Jordon.

Jordan is a pass-rush specialist and consultant with the Dallas Cowboys. With analysts predicting him to be a great fit for Dallas, the team might not be able to pick him until they trade up from their 12th overall pick.

As for his production, Arvell Reese has played a total of 36 games, recording 112 tackles (52 solo), two passes defended and seven sacks.

In the 2025 season alone, he played in 14 games, recording 69 tackles (34 solo), two passes defended and 6.5 sacks, highlighting his most productive season. At the Scouting Combine, he finished the 40-yard dash in just 4.46 seconds.

Arvell Reese has emerged as one of the top linebackers in the country and a highly touted prospect for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Meanwhile, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys hold eight picks, including Nos. 12 and 20. However, with Reese projected in the top 10, securing him could be a challenge.

Nonetheless, multiple reports highlight Reese as a perfect fit to bolster Dallas’ linebacker unit. To bridge the gap, ESPN analyst Bill Barnwell has suggested a potential trade to help the Cowboys.

A Jets-Cowboys Trade Scenario Could Bring Arvell Reese to Dallas

Per Barnwell, to land Arvell Reese in the draft, the Cowboys must get the No. 2 spot. The team can give up their No.12 and No.112 (fourth round) combined with one selection each in the first and third round of the 2027 draft.

And in return, they could get the No.2 pick this April and a fifth-rounder in the 2027 draft from the New York Jets.

Barwell isn't the only one projecting this potential pick.

"The Dallas Cowboys have been rumored to be eyeing the No. 3 overall pick, but the shock here is that Jerry Jones and crew really push the ball and land the No. 2 overall pick in an eye-opening block buster trade with the New York Jets," NFL Mocks' Tarringo Basile-Vaughan wrote in his latest mock draft.

It’s easy to see why Arvell Reese is linked to the Cowboys, with some even comparing his potential to Micah Parsons. But Reese would need to be exceptional to match that value.
