During a press conference during Cowboys training camp on August 2, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb said he hopes to remain healthy throughout the 2026 season after being repeatedly injured in the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
In December 2025, Lamb received a concussion, due to which he was forced to take a ten-day break. This season, he really hopes to stay healthy, but then again, he also acknowledged that injuries are spontaneous and can't be guaranteed.
“Yeah, you can't really avoid freak things like that,” Lamb said. “That's just what happened... But as for me, just taking care of my body, relaxing, red lights, lots of different things to get the soft tissue going. And around later on in the season, that's kind of when it's going to be beneficial for me.”

According to the video uploaded on the Dallas Cowboys YouTube Channel (@dallascowboys) on August 2, Lamb said that injuries are unavoidable, but players can control how they recover and prepare during the offseason.
The five-time Pro Bowler said health remains his top priority after missing a few games due to injuries during the last two seasons, believing consistent availability is the key to leading the Cowboys offense in 2026
"For one, for me, it's all about being healthy, being available for my team, because the last two years, that wasn't the case,” Lamb said, according to Patrick Walker of DallasCowboys.com. "So, just overall health and being able to lead, and teach the younger guys and, overall, I gotta go be me - going out there, making plays, helping the guys, and scoring."
Lamb faced an early setback last year, as he suffered an ankle injury in the Week 3 game against the Chicago Bears, missing three games.
He returned in the Week 7 game against the NFC East division-rival Washington Commanders, and posted 75 receptions for 1,077 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 2025.
Lamb also missed two games in the 2024 season due to a right AC joint shoulder sprain.
On the other hand, Lamb believes that putting together a fully healthy season could help lead the Cowboys' offense to an elite level.
CeeDee Lamb explains why the Cowboys aren't relying on last year's success
During the training camp presser, Lamb said the Cowboys are not relying on last year's success, despite finishing with the NFL's No. 2-ranked offense, and are focused on starting from scratch.
"We understand we were very successful, but none of that success from last year can carry over, so we are just basically starting over from scratch, building that bond once again, and kind of carrying over," Lamb said, according to Patrick Walker of DallasCowboys.com.
Lamb believes the Cowboys still have room for improvement after ranking 29th (league-worst minus-9) in turnover differential, while ranking 18th in red-zone touchdown efficiency (57%) in the 2025 season.
The wideout believes the Cowboys' offense could be more explosive in 2026 if they eliminate the mistakes that limited the Cowboys' ceiling last season.
