CeeDee Lamb sends strong message about George Pickens, Cowboys offense

The Dallas Cowboys have one of the most powerful wide receiver duos in the NFL with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, and Lamb believes there will be many exciting moments to look forward to with the dynamic duo on the field together in the 2026 season.

During the training camp presser on August 2, Lamb promised "lots of fireworks" from the Cowboys offense and hopes Pickens eventually lands the lucrative contract he deserves.

“Lots of fireworks, lots of excitement, lots of touchdowns, lots of dances,” Lamb told media during the training camp. “I always want him to win. I’m his biggest fan. I tell him this all the time; he’s elite at what he does. I’m happy to have him on my team and vice versa; I’m sure he is too…I want him to get all the money in the world, no cap."

Pickens is set to play under the franchise tag ($27.3M) for the 2026 season, with the Cowboys executives firm on their decision not to negotiate an extension or a trade for the wideout.

Despite speculation that he would hold out for a long-term contract, Pickens showed up for the mandatory minicamp and training camp with a “football first” mindset, aiming to help lead the Cowboys to Super Bowl contention.

“We spent a lot of the offseason together, honestly,” Lamb said during the training camp presser on August 2. “So everything that you saw last year, we're going to build off of that, and God willing I'm healthier the whole year, and then we're going to see what happens from there.”

While Pickens posted career highs in receptions (93), receiving yards (1,429), and touchdowns (nine), Lamb recorded 75 receptions for 1,077 receiving yards and three touchdowns last year.

Lamb suffered an ankle injury early in the Week 3 game against the Denver Broncos, sidelining him for three games. And he believes that the wide receiver tandem could have a great, productive season if he remains healthy.

The five-time Pro Bowler welcomed the confidence surrounding the Cowboys' offense but underlined that results will matter more than records.

CeeDee Lamb says Cowboys' offense must earn its reputation

Despite finishing as one of the NFL's top offenses statistically, Lamb believes the Cowboys' potential could only be reached if they capitalize on scoring opportunities and protect the football.

"We didn't finish drives as much as we would like, although we did have a lot of points scored," Lamb said during the same presser. "But that goes to show you how many more points that we can have and put up on the scoreboard."

The Cowboys struggled to convert drives into touchdowns and protect the ball, as they ranked No. 29 (minus-9) in turnover differential, while ranking 18th in red-zone touchdown efficiency (57%).
