Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys turned his attention away from AT&T Stadium this week. With the 2026 season looming, Lamb is heading off on a new mission away from the Cowboys, putting his name behind a cause aimed at kids off the football pitch.

Tom Thumb, Albertsons, and Randalls started a fundraising campaign against childhood hunger that runs from July 27 to August 10. They made Lamb the spokesperson for the campaign.

"I'm excited to partner with Tom Thumb to keep kids fed and healthy this school year. As an athlete, I know how important nutrition is to performing your best, and that's as true in the classroom as it is on the field," Lamb said on July 27 as per a Business Wire release.

According to a press release on Business Wire, research conducted explains that hunger negatively impacts a child's concentration, memory ability, mood, and even motor skills.

This also isn't the first time he's teamed with Tom Thumb to support his community. This proves Lamb's off-field endeavors that occurred before his latest contract continue.

"We're committed to helping families put food on the table throughout the year, and back-to-school season is an especially important time. We're grateful for CeeDee Lamb's support and for the generosity of our customers and associates," said Bill Neve, Regional President of Operations at Albertsons Companies.

With training camp around the corner, Lamb's 2026 season has not begun among the players; it has started with a commitment to children away from the fields.

That steady presence away from the field is why the commotion surrounding Dallas' receiver room is misguided.

How CeeDee Lamb's campaign aims to help local children

As per the same press release, the initiative comes at a time when many families face added financial pressure as the school year begins.

By encouraging donations through local stores, the campaign is intended to ease some of that burden while helping children start the academic year with access to nutritious food.

The money raised will stay within the communities it serves, benefiting nonprofit organizations that work with children and families across North Texas, Louisiana, Houston and Austin.

Among the groups receiving support are local Boys & Girls Clubs chapters, which provide food assistance alongside youth programs.

For many children, those organizations also help fill a basic need that can have a lasting impact on a student's well-being and ability to learn throughout the year.

"For many of the kids we serve, the food they get at the Club may be the only reliable meal between school breaks and weekends," Brian Slye, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dallas, said in the same release.

For Lamb, the partnership extends beyond raising awareness. The campaign aims to translate community donations into practical support for local children, ensuring families have better access to nutritious meals.
