The Dallas Cowboys are trying to bring in all the best players possible out there to strengthen their defense line, with a recent addition pointing to a USC Safety for a pre-draft visit.

The Dallas Cowboys are still on the lookout for potential players to bolster their defense and USC Trojans' safety Kamari Ramsey may quite fit the bill.

The team hit gold with drafting the Arizona Cardinals' safety Jalen Thompson, signing a four-year deal in free agency, for the 2026 NFL draft, but the roster gap is yet to be filled.

And when USC Trojans' Kamari Ramsey announced that he would be declaring for the 2026 NFL, it immediately caught the eye of the Cowboys, making him a potential prospect for the team.

According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Ramsey is ranked as the 76th overall prospect in the 2026 draft class. He is projected to be a third-round pick. And as per Sports Illustrated NFL Journalist Arye Pulli, Ramsey went on a 30 visit with the Dallas side.

Kamari Ramsey played for the USC Trojans from 2024 to 2025, after transferring from the UCLA. Before declaring his availability for the NFL draft, defended 7 passes, 87 total tackles, 2 sacks and 1 interception in the two seasons played at USC.

Originally from Sierra Canyon High school, he was rated as a four-star recruit and recorded a total of 5 tackles in the three games he played for UCLA Bruins in 2022.

He impressed the scouts at the 2026 NFL Combine, by running the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds.

Ramsey is also projected to be a Day 2 selection with drafts linking him to Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears. He is a possible 2026 NFL draft safety prospect and much need aid to the Dallas Cowboys moving forward.

Dallas Cowboys’ Defense Needs an Upgrade

The Dallas Cowboys are ready to address their weak defense.

They are prioritizing a comprehensive defensive transformation through utilizing their two first-round picks - No.12 and No.20, one third-round selection and one fourth-round selection.

With these options, they can address their gap in the roster gap of safety and linebacker.

While the Dallas Cowboys offenses have been strong with the leadership of quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receivers George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb were equally instrumental.

On the other side of the ball, Cowboys allowed 377.0 yards, ranking 30th in the league last season. Not only that, but they became the team with most touchdowns conceded (60).

After that disappointing season, the Dallas Cowboys paid more attention to their secondary and have bolstered their defensive line through free agency and key veteran signings.

With the addition of defensive coordinator Christian Parker, the team hopes to add the necessary defensive firepower. According to SI.com, selecting Ramsey in the middle could further strengthen their defense and provide much-needed stability.
