Cowboys CB Cobie Durant Sends Bold Message About Helping Dak Prescott Thrive

As the Cowboys are adding more defensive players to their roster, their latest addition is cornerback Cobie Durant from the Los Angeles Rams.
Durant is excited about the prospect of helping star quarterback Dak Prescott by intercepting the ball and committing turnovers.
"Everybody knows, [Smith] knows, [Ansley] knows, [Parker] knows that I play both inside and out. Wherever I can contribute to the team and commit those turnovers and get the ball back to Dak [Prescott], whether that's inside, outside, boundary, field, it doesn't matter. 'The Landshark's just coming to play,” Durant said.
Durant played four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams and has lined up both inside and outside as their cornerback. In his last season with the Rams, Durant has recorded an NFL-best three interceptions in the 2025 playoffs and seven pass breakups.
"Just create takeaways and get the ball back to Dak. Let Dak do what he does. I'm excited for it. Like I said, got great guys in that secondary, and I'm just here to add on. They're getting a guy that the media says is too small,” he further added.
Durant has a smaller frame in his 5’11 height, weighing 181 pounds. He, however, does not let this deter him. He says he looks up to players like Tyrann Matthieu, who is a strong playmaker.
Durant said he is focused on creating turnovers and fulfilling his role as a secondary. He said he approaches the game with “God-fidence”, not confidence.
Durant’s intercepting ability should serve the Cowboys well and create some openings for Dak Prescott.
The Cowboys sign pass rusher Rashan Gary from the Packers
The Cowboys have signed pass rusher Rashan Gary from the Green Bay Packers as they attempt to further strengthen their defense ahead of the 2026 season.
The signing came with the Cowboys getting one 2027 fourth-round draft pick in return. Gary is now reunited with his ex-teammate Kenny Clark, who came to the Cowboys as part of the Micah Parsons trade.
Rashan Gary had been with the Green Bay Packers for 7 seasons. He has recorded a total of 46.5 sacks in 106 games and given Pro Bowl honors in 2024.
The pass rusher signed a 4-year contract extension worth $96 million in 2023 and is owed $18 million in base salary this year.
Adding Rashan Gary can give the Cowboys defense a much-needed facelift and add depth to the defensive lineup.
