Cowboys Fans Don't Want to See 243-lbs LB wearing a star again

Dallas Cowboys fans are making their voices heard. The potential return of linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr. is drawing fierce opposition online. His performance last season failed to impress, and the fanbase seems ready to move on.

Murray Jr. is one player that most fans want Jerry Jones not to sign again this season. He was drafted by the Cowboys from the Tennessee Titans in 2025 to improve their defensive line.

Yet, his performance failed to be productive on the field despite showing high hopes in his previous season. With the Dallas Cowboys having their defense ranking as the second-worst team in the league, fans' disapproval was evident.

Throughout his six season-career, Murray posted 497 combined tackles (309 solo, 188 assists), 9.5 sacks, 33 tackles for loss, 14 pass defensed, and 3 interceptions for 22 yards.

His best season was the 2023 season with the Los Angeles Chargers, recording 107 combined tackles (79 solo), 4 pass defensed, and 3 sacks across 15 games.

His 2025 season with Dallas saw him play all 17 games, but the numbers were not quite the sale. The player recorded 81 combined tackles (38 solo), 2 pass defensed, and 1 sack.

Though Murray Jr. has had decent tackling statistics, his contributions have been minimal, considering that the Dallas Cowboys were dead last in the league in terms of points allowed in the 2025 season.

At 26 years old, there are questions surrounding Murray’s capability to make a significant difference instead of just putting in tackles.

With both head coach Brian Schottenheimer and new defensive coordinator Christian Parker having been making changes to the defensive scheme, it seems probable for Dallas to opt for a fresh faces rather than give their current veteran another chance.

Fans have also reacted strongly to the possibility of his re-signing, expressing heavy backlash over his underwhelming performance last season.

Fan Backlash Grows Over Veteran Linebacker’s Possible Return

Though nothing is confirmed, fans are not open to the idea of re-signing Murray Jr.

"This shouldn't even be a consideration. This guy must makes no impact. Can't get off blocks. He's terrible! Talkes a good game but he's playing doesn't match! Bye!" One fan note.

Many fans were focused on the quality of the performances posted and how replacing him would not be difficult.

"No, let him walk, let him run," another fan commented, while another preferred a rookie over him. "Absolutely not. He was terrible. A rookie can take his place."

It was clear that the fans thought that his numbers had not been good enough for Dallas.

"No way, 50 Collegiate LB better than him." one fan said, while another added, "What the f***. Peace to him. Walk please."

A fan was quick to point out the exact reason on why the fans are never going to be happy about this.

"This shouldn't even be a (?). One of the worst rated LB's on one of the worst Def's in the NFL & should we re-sign him? Walk on by folks...," the comment read.

The reactions clearly show that Cowboys fans are overwhelmingly against re-signing the linebacker, with many calling for the team to invest in younger, more impactful talent instead.
