The Dallas Cowboys star quarterback, Dak Prescott, is currently dealing with a tough split from his fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos.
Team's head coach, Brian Schottenheimer, has stepped in with a firm statement about his mobility moving forward.
On Tuesday, on the Up & Adams show, Schottenheimer was introduced to the audience with a highlight reel, featuring Dak Prescott’s eight-yard rushing touchdown run during the Cowboys' 21-point comeback win over Philadelphia in Week 12.
Speaking about that time, the head coach said, “The Dak run, that's unusual.”
However, he further revealed a concerning update about the Cowboys star, “You know — he's probably watching this, you used to be really athletic, bro. I mean, we're losing a step or two. But basically, [I see] the guys having fun.”
Earlier in his career, Prescott's mobility used to be his primary weapon against his opponents, but that edge appears to have faded over time, and it’s largely due to the injuries he has sustained throughout his career.
Back in October 2020, the star suffered a brutal compound fracture and a dislocated right angle ending his season. In 2024, he partially tore his hamstring tendon off the bone, which required him to undergo surgery, again ending his season.
Despite back-to-back career-threatening injuries, the quarterback hasn’t looked back when it came to performing his best. Last season, he threw for 4,552 yards and 30 touchdowns against just 10 interceptions.
With that said, during these hard times, Schottenheimer has some words for him.
Brian Schottenheimer Believes Dak Prescott Can Get Over This
Since the split news dropped, high-profile voices like Erin Andrews and Christina Thompson have voiced their support for Dak Prescott.
However, the most impactful backing came from inside the locker room. Head Coach Brian Schottenheimer stood for his player.
“Dak and I have had a ton of conversations,” Schottenheimer said about his meeting with the Dallas Morning News. “He’s in a really good spot. Obviously, what he’s dealing with is incredibly tough. But if anyone can handle it, he can.”
Since the drama started in early March, Dak has gone completely off the radar, staying out of the media and leaving fans concerned.
