Cowboys' Latest Addition To Defense Excited to Team Up With Kenny Clark

Rashan Gary's move to Dallas is a big deal for the defensive line. But for the player himself, it's the reunion with former teammate Kenny Clark that has him most excited. Their history in Green Bay could be the key to unlocking a new level for the Cowboys' defense.
Gary shared his excitement, saying, “KC is my dog. I've been in Green Bay for seven years, and I've been with KC all those seven. He watched me mature as a man, mature as a player, and also gave me key pointers on the way up. Always told me to stay focused.”
Rashan Gary spent seven years with the Packers, and during this time, he formed a close friendship with Clark. As soon as Gary got traded to the Cowboys, he rang up Clark and told him that it’s an “honor and privilege” to play with him again. The two will be reunited with Christian Parker, who was part of the coaching staff years ago with the Packers.
“One I think I love [about] KC, he's a guy that prides himself on the process. He loves ball. Two guys that love ball, and that're focused on the process, you just get lost into it. Just understanding how great each other could be, and we push each other for that.”
Gary further added, "So just being able to join back with a player like that, he knows the sky is the limit for him, and understanding myself, the sky is the limit for me, and having a player that understands how to push me and how to get the best out of me and vice versa."
After spending his entire career with the Packers, Gary has a total of 46.5 sacks. In his past two seasons, he recorded 15 sacks and topped out with 9.5 sacks in 2021.
The Cowboys have acquired Gary in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick. Together with Clark, the Cowboys will be hoping to strengthen the defensive line.
At The Same Time, The Dallas Cowboys Have Given Away a Defensive Star
The Cowboys have traded Osa Odighizuwa to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick.
This move has come as a surprise, as Odighizuwa signed a $80 million four-year extension with the Cowboys during the 2025 offseason.
His performance was solid for the Cowboys, recording 44 tackles and 3.5 sacks while playing 62.5% of defensive snaps in the 2025 season.
Odighizuwa was an impending cap hit, valued at $20.75 million as per OverTheCap.com. The Cowboys can clear $4.75 million worth of cap space by trading away Odighizuwa.
Along with Odighizuwa, veteran defensive lineman Solomon Thomas has also been traded away to the Tennessee Titans.
