The Dallas Cowboys missed their chance at Maxx Crosby, with the Raiders star joining the Cowboys legend, Michael Irvin, who is furious with the front office for letting it happen.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Cowboys legend Michael Irvin expressed his disappointment in the fact that  Jerry Jones and the Cowboys could not get Maxx Crosby.

The asking price was too much for the Cowboys, who had offered a first and second-round draft pick, but ended up losing out to the Ravens.

“I'm dealing with the pain in us not getting Max Crosby because I told y'all he's one of them, dudes. And I love him because of the kind of dude he is. And I don't know if you guys saw it,” Irvin said about the star edge rusher.

Maxx Crosby exited the Raiders with an emotional farewell video, where he shouldered the blame for the team’s underwhelming performance last season.

In response to this, Michael Irvin claimed that the Raiders’ struggles were not down to Crosby’s performance. And the numbers tell the same story. He managed 45 tackles, 10 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and an interception. He had double the sacks of any defensive player on the team.

“You saw he wrote, I guess put out an ad or wrote a letter back to all of the Raiders, Raiders Nation, apologizing for not delivering, not getting them what he thinks they deserve to be. Now, come on, man. Come on,” Irvin said, expressing his frustrations.

Irvin spoke highly of the edge rusher, saying, “If anybody watches any kind of football, the one thing they know is Max Crosby was the very last d*** reason the Raiders did not get to a championship.”

Crosby has been a staple with the Raiders ever since he was acquired by them in 2019. He is a five-time Pro Bowl player and is widely considered one of the best edge rushers in the NFL.

Crosby sends emotional message to Raiders fans after exit

Crosby has always been a Raider since he first joined the NFL in 2019. His exit after 6 seasons comes as a shock to football fans everywhere. Crosby himself got emotional as he bid adieu to his former team.

Crosby released a farewell video to the Raider Nation, where he apologized for letting them down, Mike Garafolo from the NFL Network reported.

“I feel like I left everything I had on the table for this team,” Crosby said. “I’ve given my heart and soul, and I feel like I let y’all down, man. Ever since Day 1, I’ve wanted to create and build a winner with the Raiders.”

Now that the Cowboys have lost out on Crosby, they have managed to sign a few players in free agency, including edge rusher Rashan Gary.
