Michael Irvin is mourning a deep personal loss. The Cowboys legend shared a heartfelt message on social media following the death of his cousin, Johnny Graham.
Irvin took the time to post two videos on X (formerly Twitter) from Graham’s funeral. The post was captioned, "Johnny, RIP IN ETERNITY."
Michael Irvin and Johnny Graham started playing football young, on the streets of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The duo was part of the same football group called the “Golden Heights.”
Irvin would often face off against kids much older than him. All that time, his cousin and friend Graham was always by his side, as well as future NFL star Bennie Blades.
After playing catch on the streets, he started tackling on the lawn, and this helped shape the playmaker Irvin eventually became in the National Football League.
His longtime supporter, Johnny Graham, was always by his side, and the Super Bowl winner is now paying his respects.
Irvin went on to play 10 seasons in the NFL, all of them with the Dallas Cowboys. The five-time Pro Bowler had an illustrious career, winning three Super Bowls and recording 11,904 yards with 65 touchdowns.
Michael Irvin has used social media to spread positivity
Not very long ago, the Pro Football Hall of Famer voiced his support for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
Prescott has recently been in the headlines regarding his personal life and relationship with his longtime partner, Sarah Jane Ramos.
Irvin wrote, “Praying for my @Dak and his beautiful family. Followed by three praying emojis. The post included himself, Prescott, and Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones.,"
He's also been vocal about the Dallas Cowboys roster situation. "Coach (Brian Schottenheimer) and I @CanesFootball Pro Day. I told Coach we need as many guys as we can get from the U !!!!" he tweeted on March 26.
