Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin recently visited his old team during their offseason practices. Following his visit, the Hall of Fame wide receiver shared a group photo on social media featuring current players and staff.
Quarterback Dak Prescott stood out wearing a bright red practice jersey while everyone else wore white. Irvin couldn't resist playing a joke on the team's leader.
“Really enjoyed my day with the @dallascowboys Pay no attention to the man in the red jersey. (@dak) he is just our BALL BOY! His job is to just get us the BALL, boy MY GUYS!!!!” Irvin posted on X.
NFL fans loved the friendly tease, and many quickly pointed out that Prescott actually looks much bigger and stronger from his intense offseason workouts.
“Dak looks like he got even bigger this offseason. He’s ripped,” a fan pointed out.
Everyone took the joke as an affectionate ribbing from a team icon who loves to use humor to build strong chemistry. Even though a few big names like wide receiver CeeDee Lamb missed the session, the overall mood around the camp remains incredibly positive.
The Dallas Cowboys are deep into their voluntary offseason practices. Taking place in early June, this practice run-through gives the team vital field time before the mandatory minicamp kicks off.
The club, led by head coach Brian Schottenheimer, is concentrating on improving the consistency of its offense while trying to improve a defense that had a difficult 2025 campaign.
Irvin is still very positive about the future and believes that if the Cowboys improve on their existing foundation, they can definitely compete for a Super Bowl.

The Cowboys recently hosted their annual "Legends Day" at The Star in Frisco, inviting multiple iconic alumni to share insights, stories, and guidance with the current roster.
Michael Irvin was among the legends in attendance, and he offered high praise for Schottenheimer’s initiative.
“I absolutely love the fact that Coach Schottenheimer encourages this, just the cross-pollinization of eras so we can pass on thoughts or whatever, provide any kind of help, answer any questions the young men need, or just tell them what the team means to us,” Irvin said. “Then we hear what it means to them and try to find that harmony and that family unity.”
For Schottenheimer, embracing the past is a deliberate motivational strategy. Rather than shying away from the high expectations of the star on the helmet, he wants his players surrounded by the tangible success of previous eras.
Seeing those Super Bowl rings up close serves as a constant reminder of the ultimate goal as Dallas prepares for the upcoming season.
