The Dallas Cowboys have had some noisy offseasons during the last few years, including the infamous trade of linebacker Micah Parsons that created drama during the 2025 offseason.
Now that the Cowboys are quiet, Cowboys analysts and hosts of the 'DLLS Cowboys Podcast', Jeff Cavanaugh, Jesse Holley, and Clarence Hill Jr., raised doubts about whether the calmer offseason is a positive sign for the franchise, during the June 22 episode of the podcast.
“Where ain't there no noise at the Dallas Cowboys?” Clarence Hill said, per the 'DLLS Cowboys Podcast'. "Will somebody get a phone call? Will there be Cowboys drama? Will there be something that breaks this quiet? Will somebody throw a firecracker?"

Hill raised doubts as one of the most controversial teams was quiet during the offseason, focusing on football without inviting any attention.
Hill remembered Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, claiming that he would create chaos if things slowed down.
Jones previously compared the franchise to a ‘soap opera’ during the premiere of Netflix's new documentary 'America's Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys', in August 2025.
"If we're not being looked at, I'll do my part to get us looked at...," Jones said, per Jeff Smith of Men’s Journal. "...The Cowboys are a soap opera 365 days a year. When it gets slow, I'll stir it up. There's sizzle, there's emotion, and if you will, there's controversy. That controversy is good stuff in terms of keeping and having people's attention."
While Hill, in his DLSS podcast, noted that Jones has been absent from the OTA sessions, by not monitoring the practice or holding an impromptu media session, Cavanagh mentioned that the teammates wouldn't likely get into a controversy other than receiving a speeding ticket.
“Now that it's quiet, now nobody gets in trouble - what does that mean?” Hill said. “Does that mean winning? Does that mean a Super Bowl? Does that mean a breakthrough like the Knicks ending the drought? Does the quiet mean anything if it don't end in title glory?"
The hosts acknowledged that the silence would be meaningful when it eventually translates into postseason success and ends the Cowboys' Super Bowl drought, similar to the end of a 53-year drought of the New York Knicks in the NBA Championship.
Brian Schottenheimer Reacts to Cowboys' Drama-Free Offseason
According to Tommy Yarrish of the Dallas Cowboys.com, the Cowboys' head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed confidence in the Cowboys' offseason, stating that they were 'in a good spot'.
"I could not be more happy about how the offseason went," Schottenheimer said, per Yarrish. "I'm not going to say it's a bad thing, but no, I think at the end of the day we're in a good spot."
The Cowboys enter the training camp with 'no contract disputes', as Pickens had signed the franchise tag, making him play for the 2026 season. Any speculation regarding him holding out was dismissed, as Pickens attended the mandatory minicamp from June 16-18.
The Cowboys are set to report to training camp in Oxnard, California, on July 28, ahead of the 2026 season.
