The NFL has been one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, in terms of revenue and valuation, and that's not coming from us. Sportico has just released the annual list of the top 100 most valuable sports teams.
The Dallas Cowboys have topped the list, becoming the most valuable sports franchise of 2026 at $15.5 billion. The NFL is collectively the most valuable league according to the list, averaging $9.34 billion per team.
But how was it calculated? The team valuation was calculated by collecting each team's historical and projected local and national revenue, while also speaking with seven sports bankers and lawyers linked to the league.
The revenue was then factored by a team-specific multiplier, which included historical sales, market, on-field performance, and league economics.
It was then combined with the team-related businesses and real estate holdings to arrive at the team's final valuation. Without further ado, let us look at the valuations of every NFL team in 2026, according to Sportico.

The table above shows the rankings of the NFL teams, but which team has led the NFL in valuation for years now?
The Dallas Cowboys dominate the rankings as the NFL shows its worth to the world of sports
The 32 teams are collectively worth $299 billion. Furthermore, the Cowboys have led the list since it started in 2020 and were valued at around $6 billion.
Keep in mind that all the NFL teams have now surpassed the $7 billion mark, with the top nine teams entering the $10 billion mark.
The Golden State Warriors were the only NBA team to rank in the top tier, coming in with a valuation of $11.33 billion. Additionally, while the Cincinnati Bengals are the least-valuable team in the NFL at $7.4 billion, there are only six more non-NFL teams valued higher than the Bengals.
With the latest Sportico list, one thing has been cleared: the NFL is an ever-growing sports league with no competitors when it comes to team valuations at the moment.
