Cowboys' Round 4 Pick Splits Fans Amid Defensive Concerns

The Dallas Cowboys continued their focus on strengthening their defence by adding the Florida Gators Cornerback, Devin Moore.

On their official X account, the Cowboys announced their fourth-round pick at pick 114.

They wrote, "From the Swamp to the Star," along with a draft graphic of Devin Moore from the University of Florida. The caption discussed Moore's trip from "The Swamp," Florida's swamp-themed home stadium, to the Dallas Cowboys' famous star logo.

Moore's senior year in 2025 was his best.

He started 11 games, made 35 tackles, and picked off two passes. Unfortunately, after a groin surgery in December 2025, it was very hard for him to get ready for the draft.

Moore played in about 30 games over four college seasons and had fewer than 1,200 defensive snaps.

In 2022 and 2024, he had shoulder surgery that ended his season. In 2023, he also had a concussion and a back injury. The constant injury concerns have forced fans to question the franchise's decisions.

Cowboys Fans React to Devin Moore Selection in Round 4

As soon as the pick was made, fans on social media were divided between Moore's potential and his history of injuries.

"Devin Moore has potential to be a h*** of a player, do you like it or hate it?" one fan wrote.

Moore's 2025 production looked good, but fans were hesitant because of all the injuries he has had over the past four years.

"Bro ran a 4.5 40, I'm a lil nervous," another commented.

Elite press-man corners usually run between 4.3 and 4.4, which makes it reasonable to wonder if Moore can cover NFL receivers on the edge.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU GET KEIONTE SCOTT??? I don't think so!" read another reaction.

Keionte Scott was still available at 114 and had a much cleaner injury history, which made it very frustrating for the Cowboys to pass on him.

"Not Malik or Harold Perkins? sigh," commented another user.

Both were available and had more proven college availability than Moore's fewer than 1,200 career defensive snaps.

"Don't be surprised if they draft a college football player next," one fan wrote sarcastically.

The comments showed that people were upset that the Cowboys chose upside over reliability at a position where they already have defensive problems.
