Cowboys Star's Mental Health Message Backfires As NFL Fans Troll $5M LB

The Dallas Cowboys have started making moves in the 2026 NFL Free agency. Unfortunately for some players, that means they will have to leave the franchise either via trade or straight up being cut.

Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown sent out a message for all those players who were being moved around. Taking to X on March 11, the LB that signed a $5,390,028 contract with the Cowboys posted:

"Praying for the mental health of all my brothers getting moved around. Don’t wish that hurt on anyone."

The fans did not have a strong reaction to his message. "Hurt? I’d gladly leave my career as a first responder to move around and play football for millions of dollars." A direct hit on how much the NFL players earn as compared to the common people.

Overshown's tweet came at the same time as the Cowboys moved around three of his defensive teammates. They have traded defensive lineman Solomon Thomas to the Tennessee Titans for a seventh-round pick.

He joined the Cowoys in 2025 only after a 2-year, $6,000,000 contract. They have also released linebacker Logan Wilson as well. He also joined the Cowboys in the 2025 season, only after the Cincinnati Bengals traded him.

But one trade has specifically made the headlines. The Dallas Cowboys have traded Osa Odighizuwa to the San Francisco 49ers in return for a third-round pick.

The Cowboys were the only ones that drafted him in the 3rd round (75th overall pick) of the 2021 NFL Draft. Many have thought the Overshown's tweet came especially for that.

Unfortunately for him, that has not held back the fans from making harsh comments.

NFL Fans Bash Dallas Cowboys Star Over Mental Health Message

One fan said, "but it's the name of the game, Osa said he wasn't happy with his position on the D, it s**** but it's a part of life and business." Insider reports have said Odighizuwa wasn’t fully comfortable with how he fit in the Cowboys’ new defensive scheme,

Another user commented, "It's a business Bubba and you signed up for it. And if youre good at it you get paid well. No tears lost over a 20x one percenter on this years salary alone, playing somwhere he may not have wanted. Us out here struggling with everything dont got no time for rich people problems."

Odighizuwa had a big salary. In 2025, he signed a 4-year, $80,000,000 contract with the Dallas Cowboys with an average annual salary of $20,000,000.

"Try moving and leaving your family behind to go w** and serving your country against bad guys that want to k*** you. All your brothers are beyond blessed to be paid millions to play a game," one comment read.

For the 2025 season, the average NFL salary was about $5.2 million. "Sorry Agent 0 but that’s the nfl baby he healthy he paid he alive wish OSA THE BEST LOVE HE HAD THE STAR ON HIS HELMET" another fan said.

Osa served the Dallas Cowboys with 115 solo tackles, 101 assists, and 17.0 sacks in 5 seasons.
