Cowboys Tied to Potential Trade for 5 x Pro Bowler by NFL Insider

The Dallas Cowboys may not be done reshaping their roster yet. A recent report from an NFL insider has connected the Cowboys to a potential trade for a five-time Pro Bowler, as the team looks for chances to strengthen its pass-rusher unit.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano suggested that the possibility of the Las Vegas Raiders trading pass rusher Maxx Crosby should not be ignored. And the Cowboys could offer a trade for him, considering their critical need at the pass-rusher unit.

“Crosby might stick with the Raiders all year at this point, but if he's going to get traded at all, we're probably looking at something in-season ahead of the deadline,” Graziano wrote. “If a team such as the Cowboys, Bills, Bears, or Patriots finds itself in contention and in need of an impact pass rusher, things could get interesting here again.”

The Cowboys were urged by fans and analysts to trade for Maxx Crosby after the Cleveland Browns traded pass rusher Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams.

The Cowboys previously made three distinct offers in early March to acquire Maxx Crosby before losing out to the Baltimore Ravens, as they offered two first-round picks to the Raiders.

However, the trade with the Ravens fell through as Crosby failed a physical, sending the veteran pass rusher back to the Raiders.

“Since that time, Crosby's $29 million salary has become fully guaranteed in 2027, which means any team that acquires him would owe him $59 million in fully guaranteed money over the next two years,” Graziano added.

The five-time Pro Bowler recorded 10 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 73 tackles (45 solo), and 28 tackles for loss in 2025.

Graziano believes that the trade for Crosby would depend on the Raiders' 2026 performance. They could acquire draft capital by trading a veteran player if they fail to make it to the playoffs.

While there is uncertainty about the Cowboys' willingness to sacrifice their draft capital for Crosby, the pass rusher is more satisfied with his stay with the Raiders.

Maxx Crosby Appears Content Amid Cowboys Trade Speculation

During the recent OTA sessions of the Raiders, Crosby spoke about his commitment to the team and also wanted to move on from the failed trade talks with the Ravens, calling it 'water under the bridge'.

"Ultimately, I am exactly where I want to be," Crosby said, per Rowan Fisher-Shotton of Newsweek. "I'm fired up. Everyone knows my love and appreciation for this organization; that never changed."

The Raiders are heading into the 2026 season with newly appointed head coach Klint Kubiak, who previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, where he led the team to a 14-3 record and a Super Bowl win in 2025.

With Crosby committed to the Raiders and the team entering the 2026 season with a revamped offensive unit, any future trade speculation would ultimately depend on the Raiders' competitiveness during the season.
