The Dallas Cowboys have locked in their home for the next three decades. Arlington's Mayor announced a deal to extend the team's lease at AT&T Stadium through 2055, a move that secures a major financial commitment ahead of the NFL Draft.
While interacting with the Star-Telegram editorial board, Arlington Mayor Jim Ross announced that he has finalized a $92 million lease for the extension of AT&T Stadium for the Dallas Cowboys till 2055.
“A huge project that will hit the agenda next week is we’re extending the Cowboys’ lease here in Arlington to 2055,” Ross said about the deal. “That is a phenomenal deal…has now 30 more years of having the…Cowboys here in Arlington.”

On Thursday, Mayor Jim Ross extended the original lease signed in 2009 for 2039 by 16 years. Now the lease would expire in 2055.
It is good news for the fans as well as for the AT&T Stadium’s lifespan, which will now last at least 46 years.
Since its inception 17 years ago, the stadium has hosted the NBA All-Star Weekend in 2010, a Super Bowl in 2011, the NCAA Men’s Final Four in 2014, and a College Football Playoff national championship game in 2015.
For the original 2009 lease, the Cowboys had to pay $166.6k for 360 months, totaling about $60 million by 2039.
The details of the deal have not been made public yet, but if we do the math with the previous agreement, then by 2055, the Cowboys had to pay a total of $92 million.
After the 2046 season, AT&T Stadium is expected to become the longest-standing home stadium in the Dallas Cowboys’ history.
Cowboys AT&T Stadium Schedule Expands With Major Events Beyond NFL Games
With the new lease in play, the AT&T Stadium awaits its busiest stretch in the upcoming 2026.
Arlington will host nine 2026 FIFA World Cup matches, starting from June 14, 2026, to July 14, 2026. This includes five group matches, three knockouts, and one semifinal.
Followed by the 2026 NFL schedule, although the schedule will be officially released by mid-May 2026, there will be training camps around late July.
The other major events include Lone Star Smokeout from April 24 to April 26, 2026, a Music & BBQ festival, and many more.
