Former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Reece Weaver's decision to retire came as a surprise to many DCC fans, after it was revealed during Season 3 of the Netflix show 'America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.'

During her recent interview with E! News on June 25, Weaver said the decision to retire from the DCC squad after three years was not influenced by anyone, as she wishes to spend some quality time with her family.

"There's a lot of people that speculate that this wasn't necessarily my decision, like other outside things were pulling me," Weaver said, per Brahmjot Kaur & Adelline Sassani of E! News.

Weaver shared that she wanted to step into the next chapter and explore avenues outside of being a social media creator and a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.

"A lot of people are always scared to stay in their box and be like, 'Well, this is it. There's no other step.' I just want to encourage people to be bold enough to take that leap," Weaver said during the same interview with E! News.

Weaver’s personal life regarding her marriage and her decision to step away from the limelight were highlighted in episode seven of Season 3, which aired on Netflix recently.

Weaver met her husband, Will Allman, while they were students at the University of Alabama. The couple got married in 2024.

The couple shared how their personal lives changed after the Netflix docuseries gained popularity and Weaver emerged as a fan-favorite on America's Sweethearts.

"It was a learning curve," Allman said during a Season 3 episode of America's Sweethearts on Netflix. "We were literally thrown to the wolves 'cause immediately, people were messaging Reece wanting her to do this, wanting her to do that."

Allman was involved in monitoring Weaver's sponsored social media posts, and Allman felt that such involvement made their relationship more professional than leading a married life.

"These are really cool opportunities that we can't really pass up, but it got to a point where I was telling Reece what to do," Allman said. "You need to do this. This is the deadline for this.' It became more like a business partnership rather than a marriage."

Weaver further explained that she feels more at peace after stepping away.

She expressed her gratitude for her experience with the DCC squad and chose to embrace the new chapter of her life after retirement.

Reece Weaver reveals what's next after DCC retirement

Weaver expressed her desire to continue dancing and return to her conservatory roots as a ballet dancer. She attended the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and later the University of Alabama, where she was on the Dancing Team's roster 2022-23, as per Alabama Athletics.

"I really wanted to go back to how I was raised in dance, which is in the conservatory tracks: classic, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and specifically theater-style dance," Weaver said, per Radhika Menon of Elle.com. "I really want to go back to that, and a huge dream of mine is Broadway."

She further expressed her desire to release a book, as she is currently working on one, and revealed her dream is to perform in the Chicago Broadway show.

Weaver has relocated to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, with her husband as she pursues new goals in dance, writing, and potentially Broadway following her retirement from the DCC.
