It didn’t last long, and it ended sooner than anyone expected. An ex-Dallas star is walking away after just one season, leaving questions behind.
Linebacker Logan Wilson has announced his retirement via Instagram, after playing for one season with the Dallas Cowboys.
In his post, Wilson reflected on the journey, thanked the organization and loved ones, and made it clear that this was a personal call, not driven by a single moment but by a broader decision about what comes next.
"After a lot of thought and prayer, I’ve decided to officially retire from the NFL," Logan Wilson said.
Logan Wilson was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2020. A 65th overall pick of the NFL Draft out of Wyoming, Logan has played 83 games in his career. He has recorded 565 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, covering 114 yards on the field. He has also successfully defended 26 passes with 11 interceptions.
He alone has spent six seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. In his farewell post, he said, "Cincinnati will always mean a lot to me. The teammates, coaches, staff, and fans made those years unforgettable. That 2021 playoff run was something special.”
Further, Logan took a moment to reflect on the people who stood by him throughout his journey.
"I also want to thank my friends and family for the support they’ve given me every step of the way,” Logan said. He expressed gratitude toward his friends and family for their constant support during his career.
Wilson also shared an emotional note for his daughters, highlighting their role in his decision. “To my wife, my daughter, my mom, my dad, and my sister — none of this would have been possible without you,” Logan added.
But, Wilson wasn't the only one saw the door.

T. Y. Hilton also announced his retirement, catching fans off guard.
Drafted first by the Indianapolis Colts, he played for 11 seasons and appeared in 146 games. On Wednesday, he announced his retirement via X.
"After an incredible journey, it's time for me to retire from the game of football and begin a new chapter," Hilton said.
"Thank you to Mr. Irsay, his family, and the entire Colts organization for believing in a kid from Miami and giving me the opportunity to live out my dream wearing the horseshoe,” he concluded.
