The Dallas Cowboys are seeking a nickel slot cornerback addition to the team to address the critical depth issues. The team is linked to seeking the former Indianapolis Colts CB, who was let go in free agency recently.

The Colts CB Kenny Moore is a highly projected prospect for the Cowboys to add at the nickel spot cornerback, along with the Ohio State safety Caleb Downs (No. 11), who is expected to be a starter in that spot.

“Should the Dallas Cowboys sign veteran CB Kenny Moore or pass?” - an X post of The Cowboys Network read.

The Indianapolis Colts released Kenny Moore II on May 7 after he requested a trade in April. Across 9 seasons and 132 games played with the Colts, he recorded 649 tackles (498 solo), 20 QB hits, 68 passes defended, and 11.5 sacks.

The Cowboys could use such a ‘veteran cornerback to help their secondary’, and also as a mentor for Caleb Downs, who is expected to fill that role, as Schottenheimer mentioned, per Dave Holcomb of heavy.com

Moore has been one of the best slot defenders in the nickel slot cornerback spot since his start in the NFL with the Colts. And a combination of Moore and Downs could be advantageous to Parker's system, which focuses on versatility.

With concerns still surrounding the Cowboys’ nickel cornerback depth, adding Kenny Moore II could provide the team with veteran leadership and immediate production in the secondary.

Fans Back Cowboys’ Possible Kenny Moore Move

The possibility of Kenny Moore II landing with the Cowboys has already sparked positive reactions among the Cowboys fans.

One fan praised the team for bringing in a veteran addition to the team, which may help the Cowboys stand out.

“Bringing in a veteran who knows how to compete is how we shut down the NFC East once and for all. Let’s go, Cowboys. Sign the man, and let’s get to work.”

Another fan was surprised by the nickel addition but welcomed the move.

“Absolutely, I know we don’t need another nickel, but this guy can play the boundary very well. This is a sneaky guy, man, I’m telling y'all.”

One fan compared him to the Philadelphia Eagles CB prospect Adoree Jackson.

“Would be a better option than Adoree Jackson.”

The Indianapolis Colts sent Stephen Gilmore to the Cowboys in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2023, and he provided them with enough coverage for an injured Trevon Diggs, as one fan noted.

“H*** Yeaa I been praying we find another decent corner since Stephon Gilmore.”

A fan pointed out nickel to be the weakest spot for the Cowboys, encouraging the move.

“Any vet CB that can still play is a good signing, I believe the position is now the weak spot on defense until proven otherwise, too many questions to answer.”

Many fans appear to view Moore as an experienced and low-risk addition who could strengthen the defense immediately.

Do you think Moore would be a good addition?
