After a somewhat silent day on the first day of NFL free agency, the Cowboys have started making moves, and this includes a lot of releases, trades, and new hirings.

Now one of their star players has sent a few words to all of them. Talking to X on March 11, 2025, the Cowboys linebacker, DeMarvion Overshown, posted:

"Praying for the mental health of all my brothers getting moved around. Don’t wish that hurt on anyone."

Now, the cowboy star did not take any name, but the timing of the message sent some signals. Recently, Jerry Jones has traded defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa to the San Francisco 49ers in return for a third-round pick. Maybe Agent 0 wanted to take a dig at that.

In 2025, Odighizuwa signed a 4-year, $80,000,000 contract with the Dallas Cowboys. It included a $20,000,000 signing bonus, $52,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $20,000,000. Did his performance match that amount?

He had 16 solo tackles, 28 assists, and 3.5 sacks in 17 games last season. The Cowboys drafted him in the 3rd round (75th overall pick) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He had recorded 115 solo tackles, 101 assists, and 17.0 sacks in 5 seasons for them, but now it's time for the 49ers.

But he wasn't the only one shown the door in this period.

Jerry Jones Has Moved A Lot of Defensive Stars Around

Jerry Jones and the Cowboys have also traded defensive lineman Solomon Thomas to the Tennessee Titans for a seventh-round pick. He was selected 3rd overall in the 1st round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.

In 2025, he signed a 2-year, $6,000,000 contract with the Cowboys and recorded 10 solo tackles and 17 assists in 16 games. Apart from him, they have also released linebacker Logan Wilson as well.

He was selected in the 3rd round (65th overall pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. But they traded him to the Dallas Cowboys in 2025, where he recorded 34 solo tackles, 36 assists, and 1 fumble recovery in 15 games.
