Aubrey Rogers is making the leap from the NBA world to the NFL. The California native, who cheered for the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena, is swapping purple and gold for blue and silver this season.

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders’ official Instagram revealed the 2026–27 roster on July 16, and Rogers was on the list. The former Lakers dancer celebrated the move on her own social channel soon after the announcement.

“Is this REAL LIFE?!” Rogers wrote on her Instagram Story, per People.

Rogers leaves her Lakers squad after two seasons and joins one of the most famous cheerleading groups in the country, the America’s Sweethearts. Since its 2024 debut, the Netflix docuseries has kept the squad in the spotlight.

According to People, Rogers is one of eight rookies who made the cut for 2026–27. The new additions are Savanna Dastrup, Emily Awbrey, Amiyah Naulls, Haley Bogdon, Lexi Smith, Brianne Lindenau, Kate Rogge, and Rogers herself.

“Officially earned their stars ⭐️ Introducing your 2026-2027 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders!” the DCC Instagram caption read, announcing the new roster.

Whether these rookies will feature in the upcoming season of America’s Sweethearts remains to be seen, as Netflix has yet to announce future plans. However, if they do, viewers may already recognize a few familiar faces.

2026–27 roster includes two returning faces from the Netflix series

Two returning faces on the new roster are Savanna Dastrup and Emily Awbrey, both of whom appeared in season three of America’s Sweethearts.

Dastrup was cut after training camp during her previous tryout. This experience led her to ask DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell whether she had what it takes to be a cheerleader.

“You might just chalk this up to timing and experience and the pressure,” Finglass told Dastrup, per People. “But I think you’ve got the skills to make this team or another team.”

Meanwhile, Awbrey was one of Finglass’s “personal favorites,” but last year she fell short because her pom-style technique wasn’t quite polished enough. The Oregon native didn’t make the roster in that cycle.

“I hope you do consider re-auditioning,” Finglass told Awbrey, per People. “Disappointed if you don’t try out again.”

Yesterday’s roster reveal marks a new chapter for all the rookies as they step into the biggest spotlight in professional cheering: performing for the richest sports franchise in the world.
