The football world has certainly not forgotten about Keena Turner. The San Francisco linebacker was part of their first four Super Bowl-winning squads.

Now the 49ers have decided to celebrate his career with a special gesture. As per the tweet of NFL Rumors, San Francisco is about to bestow him with a special honor.

"#49ers to induct Keena Turner into their Hall of Fame," reads the X post by NFL Rumors.

Turner will now be an exclusive member of the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. Hall of Fame. The 49ers Hall of Fame was created to recognize players, coaches, and executives who have made exceptional contributions to the organization.

The categories for earning a spot depend on the following criteria: outstanding production and performance on the field, key contributions to the team's success, and/or the embodiment of the spirit and essence of the San Francisco 49ers. Something that Turner showed during his time with the club.

Keena Turner, or San Francisco's beloved KT, will receive his honors on Oct. 19 at Levi's Stadium.

The four-time Super Bowl Champion (XVI, XIX, XXIII & XXIV) played in 153 games (118 starts). He made 562 tackles, 62 passes defensed, and 19.5 sacks.

Furthermore, he had 11 interceptions, eight forced fumbles, and eight fumble recoveries. He also played in 18 postseason contests (16 starts).

Deservingly so, KT was also the first player in San Francisco history to record at least 10.0 sacks and 10 interceptions in a career.

Turner was also overwhelmed by the announcement and thanked the San Francisco franchise for the honor.

Keena Turner "Humbled" By His HOF Induction

San Francisco owner Jed York broke the news of Keena Turner's HOF induction at the Rossotti Alpine Inn Diner in Portola Valley. Hearing the news, Turner was visibly emotional.

"I've always thought that my role was to make sure that the rich history of this place was always appreciated and handled the right way," said Turner, "Jed and the family have allowed me to be a part of this in an amazing way. So this is home. This is family. It's always been special to me. I hope that all of you have felt how important it is."

That long connection is still apparent. Even after bidding adieu to the game, Turner stayed back handling the front office for San Francisco. During his tenure, he managed different roles.

Presently, he works as Vice President & Senior Advisor to the General Manager. Turner was instrumental in the creation of the 49ers Museum, located at Levi's Stadium. This would be his 41st season with the team, which includes 11 playing/30 front office.

It wouldn't be wrong to say that this prestige was rightfully earned by him.
