Former six-time Pro Bowler Chad Johnson believes Von Miller was once among the NFL's best at his position, and he is happy to see the veteran pass rusher join the Dallas Cowboys.
Johnson praised Miller's move to one of the NFL's most historic franchises, while also pointing to the production Miller delivered last season after returning from a serious knee injury.
"Listen, I'm happy for him. Anytime you get to play in your home state for one of the best franchises of all time," Johnson said on August 16. " I think maybe a year or two, maybe three, removed from an ACL injury and still being able to be productive like that at his said position, where at one point he was top three at what he did. So, I'm happy for him."

Johnson's praise on the Nightcap podcast also reflected what Miller has accomplished since returning from his ACL injury. The veteran pass rusher has continued to produce despite the setback.
But it seems like he found his rhythm last season, recording a team-high of nine sacks and 26 combined tackles.
Miller was one of the best linebackers from 2011 to 2019, earning AP Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, eight Pro Bowl selections, and three first-team All-Pro selections in 2012, 2015, and 2016. Now for the Cowboys, he plays as an edge rusher.
Having so many accolades will surely help the Cowboys add depth to their already stacked Edge lineup. But Miller joined the team in the middle of training camp and the preseason.
When Can Cowboys Fans Expect to See Von Miller?
As the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, Miller joins two more first-round picks: Rashan Gary, the No. 12 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and Malachi Lawrence, the No. 23 overall pick in this year's draft.
But he joined in the middle of the preseason, with the Cowboys having won 17-7 in their Week 1 game against the reigning NFL champions, the Seattle Seahawks.
Writer Patrick Walker of DallasCowboys.com has reported that Miller will not join the scrimmage practice with the New Orleans Saints on August 18 and will likely miss the final practice day on August 20.
"After a short stay in Southern California, Miller will break camp with the Cowboys on Friday and return to Dallas," Walker wrote. "Likely to make his practice debut when training camp resumes at The Star in Frisco on Tuesday, Aug. 25, though that is still to be determined."
While it remains unclear when the renowned pass rusher will grace the field for the Cowboys, he is the most intriguing addition nonetheless.
