Interesting Report Might Confirm Cowboys Star's Future Amid Contract Dispute

The Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones have been busy with the overhaul of the defense. One place that is in good standing is Special Teams.
There is still no official agreement between kicker Brandon Aubrey and the Cowboys; it is only a matter of time before the sides reach a new deal.
As per the latest report by The Athletic, “Aubrey is still a free agent. The expectation is that he isn’t going anywhere.”
Apart from Aubrey, two veteran special teams players will be back for the Dallas Cowboys for the upcoming NFL season.
Punter Bryan Anger and long snapper Trent Sieg make up that special teams unit, and with Aubrey in there soon, that is one set unit going into the fall.
The two-time Pro Bowler, Anger, has been around the block and will enter his 15th NFL season having played over 200 professional games. Trent Seig will enter his 9th NFL season having played over 100 games in his professional career.
Once you add the likes of Brandon Aubrey, who has played 51 games in his career, going 112-127 on field goals with an impressive 88.2% field goal percentage. The Dallas Cowboys will feel good about their players on special teams.
The fans would hope that the three-time Pro Bowl kicker and the Cowboys can agree on a new long-term deal.
How does Aubrey feel about Dallas?
Aubrey wants to return to AT&T Stadium this fall, and he has made that quite clear.
On March 12, Aubrey spoke with Jeff Kolb of FOX4 and said, “Dallas is my home. I’d like to keep it that way. So it would be nice to get a long-term deal going, I just need to, you know, sit down and have that conversation.”
In the 17 games played last season, Aubrey went 36-42 on field goals and 47-48 on extra points. His season-long field goal was 64 yards.
Aubrey is a restricted free agent, and the Cowboys have placed a second-round tender if another team wants to sway him away from Dallas. That team would need to give up a second-round pick to Jones and the Cowboys.
This topic still remains hot, and it is yet to be determined how it will be played out. What do you think about the whole saga? Let us know in the comments!
