“It’s that or nothing”: Dak Prescott shuts down Cowboys criticism with bold message

The Dallas Cowboys had a tough 2025 season. They finished with a 7-9-1 record and missed the playoffs for the second year in a row. But their QB Dak Prescott played solidly, yet despite his great personal stats, critics still point out that Prescott has not won a Super Bowl.

Entering the 2026 season, Prescott remains focused on the one goal that has eluded him throughout his career: winning a Super Bowl. Speaking at a recent charity event hosted by his foundation, the Cowboys quarterback made it clear that nothing less will satisfy him.

"That's what's left for me," Prescott said per an X post by Jon Machota of The Athletic. "It has always been my mindset. It's the one thing I truly love about the Cowboys organization and the fanbase is it's that [Super Bowl] or nothing. That's what being a competitor is.”

Prescott believes Dallas has the pieces to compete for the Super Bowl, but he knows last season exposed one major weakness, Per Prescott's interview through Jon Machota's X post

While the Cowboys fielded one of the league's most productive offenses behind Prescott, their defense finished last in the NFL by allowing 30.1 points per game.

Dallas responded by adding safety Jalen Thompson, trading for pass rusher Rashan Gary, and selecting Caleb Downs in the draft, hoping those moves can help turn a playoff-caliber offense into a championship contender.

Prescott played wonderfully, throwing for 4,552 yards and 30 touchdowns with only 10 interceptions in the 2025 season.

With a newly rebuilt defense and an elite quarterback under center, Dallas is completely focused on making a deep playoff run.

In the same interview, Dak Prescott believes the Dallas Cowboys have a real shot at winning the Super Bowl this season. After a strong offensive run last year, he feels a new defensive coach and a great mix of young talent and veteran leadership will make the difference.

Prescott highlighted this optimism in the same event by saying:

"Each year you think that. But when you have the last year that we did, the offense that we did, you've been making changes, and you got a great defensive coordinator (Christian Parker)," Prescott added. "And you've got young guys, old guys, a great mix of vets with talent, and us understanding what needs to be done."

While the team boasted a top-five offense last year, they missed the playoffs due to defensive struggles. Prescott previously admitted it was frustrating because he couldn't tie his own strong play to the team's ultimate success.

He knows he can only control his own performance, but he is excited about the defensive upgrades.

For Prescott, talent alone won't be enough. He believes the Cowboys must build that championship standard throughout training camp if they're finally going to turn their Super Bowl ambitions into reality.
