Jerry Jones Gets Trey Hendrickson Warning After Missing Out on Maxx Crosby

The Baltimore Ravens have officially signed Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders. The next name on the list for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys, Trey Hendrickson, comes with his own set of questions.

The Cowboys had an eye on Crosby prior to the Ravens' signing him. ESPN reports that the Cowboys were willing to offer a first-round and a second-round draft pick in exchange for Crosby.

However, the asking price for the edge rusher was just too much for the Cowboys to handle. NFL analyst Peter Schrager has noted that Trey Hendrickson could be the answer, but the team needs to act.

Speaking on the Pat McAfee show, Schrager said, "He is a pure free agent, and I think Dallas does make a lot of sense. I know he's on the other side of 30, that's not necessarily what everyone wants to hear, but they have the 12th and 20th pick where they can get younger, and they're looking to add assets."

Hendrickson is a four-time Pro Bowler and recorded 17.5 sacks in the 2024 season. His 2025 season, however, was marred by injury, and he played only seven games.

Despite that, Hendrickson remains one of the top pass rushers up for grabs. Added to the fact that he will come at a lower price than Crosby, the Cowboys could very well look to sign the star.

Jerry Jones plans to be “aggressive” this offseason

Jerry Jones has sparked fans' curiosity after saying he is going to “bust the budget” and be “aggressive” in free agency this offseason.

Speaking at the NFL Combine, Jones said, "I could see us being aggressive in free agency. By the very virtue of having two number ones, I would bet that we will spend more money in free agency than we have.”

True to words, the Cowboys owner has now restricted the contracts of key players like Dak Prescott and OL Tyler Smith.

Jones further added, “I want you to know that the only way to push forward is for me to borrow some of my future. Expect me to go borrow some of my future, OK?"
