Jerry Jones Leaves NFL Fans Fuming Over Recent Super Bowl Remarks

Jerry Jones has seemingly admitted what fans already knew for over 30 years: the frustration of not winning a Super Bowl for that long.

Having seen a golden era in the 90s with 3 Super Bowl titles, the Cowboys are facing a massive drought. Jerry Jones says he wants to create a similar legacy.

Speaking to reporters at the NFL Combine, Jones said, "I really can't accept just the thought of winning one Super Bowl and then what? I've got more time on my clock than that in my mind. And so I don't see it that way."

The Cowboys’ performance last year left a lot to be desired and did not indicate a Super Bowl-winning team. Dak Prescott and company missed the playoffs in the 2025 season with a poor 7-9-1 record. Dallas had one of the league's worst defences.

Despite all of this, Jones was desperate to get his hands on the Lombardi trophy once again.

"It runs that way in my view. ... Make no mistake about it now, if you told me I could, because I've done a lot of hitchhiking in my life. ... I'd start here with you right now and hitchhike back to Dallas to win a Super Bowl."

While Jerry Jones' mindset could bode well for the franchise, fans are seemingly prepared for a narrative they play year after year.

Fans not happy over Jones’ comments on Super Bowl drought

Fans are aware of the business Jerry Jones conducts year after year. Some of them are convinced that the Cowboys won’t make a Super Bowl appearance, let alone win it.

“Yet the Cowboys will choke as they always do. Jones is senile and out of touch with today's game. He's a relic that just doesn't fit with the modern game,” one frustrated fan said.

“He doesn't even know where to start building a championship team. He probably really thinks "hitchhiking" would get him there,” one fan chimed in.

Jerry Jones has the final say on most of the decisions in the franchise. One fan thinks placing more trust in the coaches and players and spending to draft the right players would lead the team in the right direction.

The fan wrote, “Better start backing the coaches, then. Give them the players they want and spend. No Championship since 1995 is unacceptable.”

“He’s got a better chance at catching a ride than lifting a trophy,” one fan commented on Jones’ desperation.
