Arguably, there is no bigger Dallas Cowboys fan than Jerry Jones himself. Jones has been the owner, general manager, and president of the Cowboys since he bought the franchise back in 1989.
In the summer of 2026, the FIFA World Cup heads to North America. The famous soccer tournament is set to be played across the continent in Canada, the United States of America, and Mexico.
Jerry Jones, the long-time owner, will have to accept the fact that his world, the AT&T Stadium nicknamed “Jerry’s World,” will operate under a different name when the World Cup comes to Dallas.
Due to the strict rules imposed by FIFA on naming rights for competition venues, Jerry's World will be called the “Dallas Stadium” for the duration of the tournament.
The Dallas Cowboys initially played their home games at the Cowboys Stadium from 2009 to 2012.
In the year 2013, the telecommunications conglomerate AT&T secured the naming rights for the stadium, and subsequently, the Cowboys Stadium was renamed the AT&T Stadium.
The AT&T Stadium, as it is known presently, did not come cheap. Construction broke ground in 2005. The initial expected cost of the stadium was roughly $650 million. Once the stadium was built, that number multiplied by double and the total cost went up to $1.2 Billion.
Following that, Jones has invested another $500 million into the stadium for upgrades, which focused on the jumbotron, suites, and technology displays.
What are some of the World Cup matches that are going to take place in Dallas Stadium?
The Dallas Stadium will host a record nine matches in this year's World Cup. In the nine matches, there are five group stage matches, two round of 32 matches, one round of 16 match, and one semifinal.
Some of the prominent teams that would play their soccer at the Dallas Stadium are Argentina, the Netherlands, Croatia, and England.
Players like Lionel Messi, Frenkie De Jong, Harry Kane, and Luka Modric will all get to play at the iconic Dallas Stadium.
However, no USA fixture will be played at this venue. Regardless, for soccer fans, this would be an experience they will not forget as the stars are coming to Dallas.
