With George Pickens’ contract situation still unresolved, the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly planning to draft a wide receiver standout from the Arizona State Sun Devils.
On April 21, NFL insider Adam Schefter appeared during an episode 'Locked on Cowboys' with Marcus Mosher. During the interview, Schefter claims the Cowboys 'love' Jordyn Tyson of Arizona State and could draft him with their 12th overall pick.
NFL Spin Zone's Sayre Bedinger claims the Cowboys might be using Tyson as a 'smokescreen' to tempt the New York Giants to draft the receiver.
He notes that the Cowboys are not in 'pressing need' of a receiver but could draft Tyson to send the NFL Draft into a 'frenzy.'
The Cowboys recently attended Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson’s Pro day on March 28, showcasing interest in the wide receiver, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
During his four-year collegiate career, Tyson has played a total of 33 games. He recorded 158 receptions for 2,282 receiving yards, with 14.4 yards per reception and 22 touchdowns.
However, the Cowboys aren't the only ones eyeing a wide receiver like Tyson. The New York Giants are projected to take Tyson with the No.5 or No.10 pick in the first round.
Giants GM Joe Schoen apparently attended his private workout, confirming their top prospect for the wide receiver roster need.
The Washington Commanders, who are on the lookout for their WR2, are also projected to draft Jordyn Tyson with their No.7 pick in the first round, finding Tyson to be a good option to support Jayden Daniels.
However, Schefter claims the Cowboys' top priority is interior defense for this year's draft and the duo of Reese and Styles fit the description.
Reese, Styles Emerge as Cowboys’ Top Draft Targets
The Buckeyes combo of Sonny Styles and Arvell Reese are the ideal projected top picks for the Dallas Cowboys in meeting their defence needs.
Reese played a total of 36 games, recording 112 tackles (52 solo), two passes defended and 7 sacks, while Styles played 53 games and recorded a total of 245 tackles (132 solo, 113 assisted), 9 passes defended, nine sacks and an interception.
Arvell Reese ran a 4.46-second 40-yard dash, while Sonny Styles also recorded a 4.46-second 40-yard dash in their 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, according to NFL's official website.
With that level of production and athleticism, it’s no surprise both Arvell Reese and Sonny Styles have emerged as top targets for the Cowboys.
If the Dallas Cowboys do move up to No. 6 in a projected deal with the Cleveland Browns, all signs point to Styles being the likely selection to revamp their defence.
