It has been 6 months since the tragic loss of Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland. His girlfriend, Catalina Mancera, has found it very hard without him, but now has shared an emotional update on social media.

Mancera shared photos from her baby shower, which is a bittersweet milestone for her without Kneeland by her side.

“Words can’t explain how thankful I am for the people God has placed in my life,” wrote Mancera. “In such a hard season, the love and support surrounding me has made everything feel a little brighter."

Mancera and Kneeland met at Western Michigan University and began dating in his sophomore year. Since then, she supported him through his college and into his NFL journey.

"I’m so grateful for everyone who came out to celebrate me and baby, and even those who couldn’t make it but still showed love from afar. I also want to thank my family for throwing me such a beautiful shower in Michigan," Mancera added.

The heartfelt post has seen a lot of support online with friends, family and fans commenting prayers and messages of support for Mancera.

"I want to thank both of our families for all the love they’ve poured into me during this time. I’ll never forget the kindness, prayers, and support that have carried me through all of this 🤍,” she concluded.

The support for Marshawn Kneeland’s family has not faded, with the Cowboys community still supporting them.

Immense Love And Support For Marshawn Kneeland’s Family From The Cowboys

Just two days after scoring his first-ever NFL touchdown, fans were shocked to hear that Marshawn Kneeland had taken his own life on November 6, 2025.

After his passing, head coach Brian Schottenheimer revealed that the team launched a fundraising campaign in Kneeland’s honor to help support Mancera.

“We’ve started the Marshawn Kneeland Memorial Fund, where we can all give and support Catalina,” Schottenheimer told reporters. “She’s pregnant, and so we want to make sure she’s taken care of and the baby’s taken care of for the rest of their lives.”

As Mancera prepares to welcome Kneeland's baby in June, the Cowboys community's love and support continue to carry her through the most difficult chapter of her life.
