Maxx Crosby Termed "Overrated" As Dallas Make Feelings Clear on Failed Trade

The Dallas Cowboys’ pursuit of star defensive end Maxx Crosby has revived after the Baltimore Ravens abruptly changed their mind.
On Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys Plug shared an X post reporting the three offers the Cowboys have made to the Las Vegas Raiders, which irked the fans against the Raiders.
“All the #Cowboys reported offers for Raiders DE Maxx Crosby, per ESPN:
1st Offer: 1st round pick
(No. 20) and DT Osa Odighizuwa. 2nd Offer: 1st Round (No. 12) and 3rd (No. 92)
Last Offer: 1st Round (No. 12) and 2nd rounder
Were the Cowboys aggressive enough?” the Tuesday post read.
And based on the Ravens rescinding their finalized trade offer to Crosby, one fan predicted the mess:
“Maxx Crosby is legit the most overrated player by far in the NFL. He’s good but my god people, the Seahawks backups are better than him.”
The 28-year-old was a round 4 pick in the 2019 draft, before the Raiders franchise was moved from Oakland to Las Vegas.
In the past six seasons, he has appeared in 110 games, made 439 tackles, and recorded 69.5 sacks. If he were to be compared with his active contemporaries, Myles Garrett has made 125.5 sacks in the 134 games he’s played in.
And as for the Seattle Seahawks back-ups, this X user mentioned, Mike Morris has recorded 26 tackles in the 33 games he’s played. And 24-year-old Rillie Mills had made three tackles only.
While the real reason for the Ravens’ withdrawal remains unknown, NFL expert Jeremy Flower reported that Crosby’s injured knee bothered them.
Fans Are Disappointed With the Raiders’ Management of Crosby
While one fan raged against Crosby, others were upset at the Raiders and called out their inaction.
“Their first offer was great. Raiders should have taken it. They were greedy then,” one fan commented.
Many others agreed that these were fair offers, especially for a player in his late 20s with a serious knee injury.
“I think the 1st and 3rd offers were fair for an elite talent coming off a knee injury,” one commented. It was followed by two similar comments.
“Very good offers. Now the raiders have nothing but a damaged player,” one wrote, and another said that the Cowboys were far too generous towards Crosby.
“Last offer seems more than fair— arguably too much to me for a guy in his late 20s with an injury history.
The injury in question is the torn meniscus in his left knee. He had sustained this ‘degenerative’ injury in Week 7 in the last season and underwent surgery in January 2026. It is worth noting that despite the injury’s seriousness, Crosby played through it till the end.
