Micah Parsons calls out his QB’s position on NFL Top 100 list

Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons did not hold back after the latest NFL Top 100 rankings revealed the underwhelming ranking of the Packers' quarterback, Jordan Love.

The NFL rolled out the recent ranking list from No. 80 through 71, and ranked Love at No. 72, down by four spots from where he ranked last year (No. 68). Parsons took to his X account to express his dissatisfaction with the rankings.

"71 players in the NFL aren't better than Jordan Love!" Parsons wrote on X on July 10.

Parsons criticized the NFL.com Top 100 list compiled by digital content editor Grant Gordon of NFL.com, arguing the peer-voted rankings vastly undervalue Love’s impact on the team.

"When Love is at his best, his game parallels just about any gunslinger in the game," Gordon explained. "Although his passing yards and touchdown tosses dropped from his previous two seasons, his six picks were a season-low since he became the Pack's QB1."

Last season, Love completed 291 of 439 passes for 3,381 yards and 23 touchdowns, showing clear progression from 2024 when he completed 268 of 425 passes.

While he technically had eight more yards and 25 touchdowns in 2024, he was far more careless with the ball, throwing 11 interceptions for a 96.7 passer rating.

Last season, he cleaned up those mistakes significantly, turning the ball over just six times and boosting his passer rating to an impressive 101.2, ranking sixth in the latter category.

For someone like Parsons, who shared the field with Love last year and is committed to the Packers through the 2029 season, these rankings would have understandably missed the mark.

Jordan Love dominated man coverage better than any QB last season

Brandon Carwile of Packers Wire backed up a ranking from ForTheNumbers, where Love ranked first in Defense-adjusted Value Over Average (DVOA) against man coverage last season.

"If you want to be an elite NFL quarterback, you'd better be good against man coverage," Brandon Carwile of Packers Wire wrote in his article. "Well, according to For The Numbers, Jordan Love ranked first in DVOA against man coverage last season....Love’s 44.2 DVOA percentage was well above Dak Prescott, who came in second at 35.0%."

While DVOA is a measure of comparing a player's efficiency by "comparing the success of every play" with the league's average, it also underlines his ability to make efficient plays under pressure and his quick decision-making ability.

Despite the debate surrounding the NFL Top 100 ranking, Love's advanced stats mark him as one of the league's most efficient QBs. His ranking in DVOA only adds to the case that he deserved a higher spot on the peer-voted NFL list.

Do you agree with Parsons that there aren't 71 better players in the league than Jordan Love? Let us know where you would rank him!
