Micah Parsons isn't holding back against his old team. The new Packers star took a clear shot at the Dallas Cowboys over his contract situation from a year ago.
The topic emerged when Peter Bukowski discussed the nine players the Packers lost. Bukowski talked about the four young stars who could have stepped up in their place. And that's when Parsons chimed in.
“I think any player hitting a second contract is successful to me! Business is business, I had three all pros and still ain’t get paid by the team that drafted me!” said Parsons.
Parsons is clearly referring to the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones. Parsons would have hoped to secure that lucrative second contract with the Cowboys. At the time, the defensive end had tallied 52.5 sacks, the fifth most in a player's first four seasons.
That number had Jerry Jones and Co. giving him a contract north of $120 million, topping the one Myles Garrett had just received at the time.
However, that did not happen. After a public exchange between Parsons and Jerry Jones and the Cowboys, Dallas traded Parsons away to the Wisconsin outfit.
Whether it is the Packers or the Cowboys, Parsons is an elite defender, and the numbers back that claim. In his first season with the Packers, Parsons recorded 12.5 sacks and had 19 solo tackles.
And even while he may not be happy with the Cowboys, one former teammate spoke up for him.
What did this star wide receiver say about Micah Parsons leaving the Cowboys?
About a month ago, CeeDee Lamb, star wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, appeared on the Rich Eisen Show. On the show, Lamb made a surprising admission about his former teammate.
Lamb said, “I was pretty upset when Micah left. I am not afraid to say it again.” It is clear how the wide receiver feels about his former teammate, Micah Parsons.
However, Lamb also admits that this was beneficial for both parties. And added, “Micah got the money that he deserved, we ended up with Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark, so that was pretty good.”
CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons played together for four seasons before the pass rusher was traded away.
