NFL Insider Reignites Speculation of Bold Cowboys Move for Maxx Crosby

Maxx Crosby, the star edge rusher for the Las Vegas Raiders, has been a subject of discussion this offseason following his suspected rift with the team at the end of last season.

Following a season full of injury woes, he was unceremoniously benched for the last two games of the season, which led to rumors of Crosby’s trade.

While the Las Vegas Raiders would not want to let go of Crosby, NFL analyst and Sports Illustrated writer Albert Breer thinks that a Crosby trade could be on the cards.

"I’d lean toward a Maxx Crosby trade happening, and maybe this week. But there’s going to have to be some needle-threading. I don’t think the Raiders want to go through the song-and-dance of shopping him, nor do I believe Crosby wants it advertised that he’s looking for suitors, given his bond with owner Mark Davis, and his view of himself as a Raider,” Breer writes.

After Micah Parsons’ blockbuster deal last year, where the Dallas Cowboys received two first-round draft picks and a player (Kenny Clark), it is expected that Crosby, too, could command a similar price.

However, keeping in mind Crosby’s recent injuries, Breer says it is doubtful that the Raiders could get such a haul for Crosby.

Crosby is currently signed to a three-year $106.5 million extension, which he signed in March 2025. He was one of the most important players for the Raiders, recording 45 solo tackles, 10 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and an interception.

Several teams have their eyes on Crosby, should the Raiders offer him up for a trade.

“We should know soon enough which path the Raiders are taking, with teams like Dallas, Chicago, Baltimore, Buffalo, New England, Philadelphia, and the Rams keeping tabs on his availability,” Breer writes.

But if the Dallas Cowboys find it hard to crack the deal for Crosby, could they look somewhere else?

Dallas Cowboys to find a Micah Parsons replacement?

After Micah Parsons left the Dallas Cowboys for the Green Bay Packers, their defense has not been the same.

While the Cowboys look to rework their defense, FOX Sports' Henry McKenna has identified a replacement the Cowboys could consider.

The Cowboys currently hold the 12th pick, for which McKenna says the Ohio State Buckeyes’ linebacker Sonny Styles would be the perfect fit.

"Here’s the Parsons replacement that the Cowboys have been waiting for,” McKenna said about Styles.

However, the only question is whether Sonny Styles will be available by the time the 12th pick comes along. Styles, who is 6’5’’ and weighs over 240 pounds, recorded stellar numbers in the Combine, with a 43.5-inch vertical jump, 11 feet broad jump, and a 4.46 in the 40-yard dash.

With these numbers popping off the charts, it is doubtful that Styles will remain undrafted long. If he is available, though, he could be a great addition to the Cowboys squad.
