Nashville, the Music City of the USA, is considered to be the frontrunner to host Super Bowl LXIV in 2030. The NFL owners are expected to vote on May 19 during the Spring League Meeting to formally approve Nashville as the host city.

If approved, it would mark a milestone for the Tennessee Titans franchise as they would be hosting their first Super Bowl. NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garofolo revealed Nashville are in the running for host city in 2030.

“The NFL owners are expected to vote at this Tuesday’s Spring League Meeting on Nashville hosting Super Bowl LXIV in February of 2030, sources tell me and Mike Garafolo”, Rapoport wrote. “This would be the first time hosting for the Music City, a showcase for the Titans' new stadium.”

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suggested Nashville to be a ‘Super Bowl-ready” city capable of hosting major events. He stated last November during the Titans’ topping-out ceremony for their new stadium, according to Kaitlin Housler of The Tennessee Star.

"The one thing that was missing was the stage,” Goodell said. “And I think now, you're building a great stage. We have a process, but I have every expectation that we're going to see that type of thing in the future."

If approved, this would slot Nashville into the official Super Bowl Calendar that already has SoFi Stadium hosting in 2027, Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 2028, and Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in 2029.

Nashville’s New Nissan Stadium Could Redefine the City Skyline

The new Nissan Stadium is set to feature a translucent roof. It also includes a 360-degree field visibility, 44 escalators, 27 elevators, and an 11,000-square-foot team store.

Such advanced infrastructure makes the new Nissan Stadium stand out among the best venues in professional sports, according to Isha Chaudhary of Parametric Architecture.

The roof is designed in such a way as to allow ‘year-round’ events under any weather conditions, holding a 60,000 capacity. It also makes use of an artificial turf playing surface.

The $2.1 billion fully-enclosed venue is currently under construction on Nashville’s East Bank, which is set to finish in 2027.

The construction project received more than $1.26 billion in public funding, while the Titans and the NFL contributed $840 million.

The project was further funded with $760 million from bonds approved by Nashville’s Metro City Council in 2023 and $500 million from the bonds authorised by Tennessee’s State Legislature in 2022, according to ESPN.

The Titans expect an economic impact of around $33.7 billion to be generated over the next 30 years.

Demolition of the old Nissan Stadium is expected to begin shortly after the 2026 NFL season, as it has been only 27 years since its inauguration.
