Former Eagles linebacker and current NFL analyst Emmanuel Acho recently shared his take on Jalen Hurts’ NFL standing, raising questions about the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback’s ranking.
Speaking on the Speakeasy podcast, Emmanuel Acho gave his opinion on Jalen Hurts’ NFL Top 100 ranking. He felt that the Eagles quarterback’s No. 56 spot was fair and not too low compared to other players in the league.
"But if you’re just talking talent, Lamar Jackson’s rated 69," Acho said. “So at the end of the day, because Lamar Jackson is poorly ranked, I don’t care where Bo Nix is, Jalen Hurts at 56 is not ranked too low."

However, Acho also made it clear that his opinion on Hurts changes when winning record is taken into account.
"As a winner, Jalen Hurts is a top-three winner in football," Acho said in a @Speakeasy YouTube video. "If you’re ranking quarterbacks based on winning, which I love doing that, Jalen Hurts is a top-five quarterback."
Hurts’ ranking debate comes after the Eagles quarterback was placed at No. 56 on the NFL Top 100 Players list. He fell 37 spots from his previous No. 19 ranking, which led to discussions about how he compares with other top players in the league.
Hurts had one of his better passing seasons in 2025, recording a career-high 25 passing touchdowns and 3,224 passing yards.
However, his rushing numbers dropped, and some inconsistent games, including his four-interception outing against the Los Angeles Chargers, tempered the narrative.
Hurts’ resume gives context to Acho’s opinion. The Eagles quarterback is 57-25 as a starter, has reached two Super Bowls, and won Super Bowl LIX MVP.
While his success as a winner remains clear, Acho believes his overall talent should be viewed separately.
But Acho’s take was not the only reaction to Hurts’ ranking. Another NFL player has shared his thoughts on the matter.
Eric Kendricks reacts to criticism around Hurts’ ranking
Linebacker Eric Kendricks reacted to the discussion around Jalen Hurts’ NFL Top 100 ranking in a video shared by SPORTSRADIO 94WIP. He pointed out that the Eagles quarterback continues to face criticism despite his performances on the field.
"Jalen Hurts gets a lot of scrutiny but wins a lot of games," Kendricks said, in the July 22 X post.
Hurts’ ranking also became a talking point after his completion percentage dropped from 68.7% to 64.8%.
NFL.com’s Jeremy Bergman noted that the change in completion percentage and his reduced role in the run game likely affected his position on this year’s list.
Despite the discussion around his ranking, Hurts remains one of the NFL’s top dual-threat quarterbacks. He has a .695 winning percentage as a starter and continues to be respected for his performances on the field.
However, Kendricks’ comments show why Hurts’ ranking remains a debate, with his results on the field still being a major part of the conversation.
