Packers Star Reportedly Linked to Dallas as Jerry Jones Sets His Eye on Star LB

Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys target the Green Bay Packers’ linebacker ahead of free agency.

Jerry Jones and Christian Parker know that the Dallas defense needs a complete overhaul. Losing Micah Parsons last season was the first domino. Dallas has also missed out on acquiring Maxx Crosby, who's on his way to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Enter Quay Walker, the linebacker from the Green Bay Packers, who is rumored to be on the radar of Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are desperately looking for a new LB, and Quay Walker could make his way to AT&T Stadium this fall.

As per Tom Pelissero, the Packers wanted to keep Walker. And, have tried making several offers for the LB. However, the LB is set to hit free agency and will have a number of potential suitors.

As for the current linebackers of Dallas, Logan Wilson and Kenneth Murray are not expected to return for the 2026 NFL season.

The Green Bay Packers drafted Walker as their 22nd overall pick out of Georgia in round one of the 2022 NFL Draft. Walker has remained with the Packers since.

In the 2025 NFL season, Walker had 128 total tackles, ‌of which 58 were solo tackles. The LB also had 2.5 sacks to his name.

Another name on the LB list for Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys is Bobby Okereke. These are some solid options for Jones and the Cowboys to begin that defense rebuild. They would bring ‌stability to that defense, which is much needed at the moment.

Will Quay Walker be a good fit, though?

There is no doubt that Quay Walker is as solid as they come. If not the Cowboys, there will be a franchise that will land the LB.

Dallas has a new and young defensive coordinator in Christian Parker. The question is, does he fit the system Parker will employ at Dallas?

While Walker is more of a playmaker himself, Parker would want someone who wears the green dot (has a radio in the helmet and communicates with coaches) and organizes the defense. Walker does not fit the bill there.

Walker can also be a hothead at times. The linebacker was ejected twice in his rookie season. Since then, he has worked on his mental health and has been credited for it.

Will Quay Walker be a Cowboy this season? It remains to be seen.

But what’s your take on this? Let us know in the comments.
