As Dak Prescott enters another season after a decade in the NFL, he is looking back at how far he has come. Speaking to reporter Nicole Hutcherson on the Dallas Cowboys’ YouTube channel, he opened up about his NFL journey and how he feels heading into the 2026 season.

“To now be here 10 years later, feeling the best that I've ever felt,” Prescott said in a Dallas Cowboys YouTube video. “Feel like I'm playing the best football I ever have.”

When asked about reaching this point in his career, Prescott explained how different it feels from his first training camp.

As Prescott mentioned in the official Cowboys YouTube video, he entered the NFL in 2016 as a fourth-round pick of the Cowboys. He arrived at training camp competing for a roster spot, but ended up winning the starting job and starting all 16 games as a rookie.

He made the most of that opportunity in his first season. He passed for 3,667 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2016, helping Dallas finish 13-3 as a starter. He also earned Pro Bowl honors and was named the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Since that first season, Prescott has continued to build on his game, with his 2025 season standing out as another strong chapter in his career.

In 2025, Prescott started all 17 games and completed 404 of 600 passes (the most that year) for 4,552 yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions

During training camp, Prescott has set a clear goal for the Cowboys’ offense. He said, “Let’s be the greatest offense there is,” as the team looks to build one of the NFL’s top offensive units in 2026.

As Prescott enters his 11th NFL season, he believes he is playing the best football of his career and will look to carry that confidence into 2026.

That confidence is also showing in how Prescott is approaching the Cowboys’ preparation for the regular season.

Dak Prescott eyes improvement ahead of regular Season

Dak Prescott spoke during a press conference in Oxnard, California, where he discussed how the upcoming joint practice could help the Cowboys improve and prepare for the regular season.

“It’s all you can ask for,” Prescott said in a Dallas Cowboys YouTube video. “CeeDee [Lamb] was just talking about it today, looking forward to Tuesday. Looking forward to just us getting better, understanding this is a team that we're going to play in the season, and it's probably a team that if we want to get to where we want to get to, we're going to have to see them again.”

Prescott then joked that the joint practice could be the first of three meetings between the Cowboys and Rams this season, with the teams also scheduled to meet in the regular season.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ focus on red-zone efficiency gives another look at their preparation for the 2026 season, with the joint practice also serving as a useful test for Dallas.
