In the 2025 season, the Dallas Cowboys were at their worst on the defensive side of the ball, conceding 59 touchdowns.
The management is still looking for help on defense, and this time, a proven name has come up. With over 130 career sacks and years of production, a veteran pass rusher is now being linked to Dallas as the team looks for answers.
Now, a report has connected the Cowboys to Cameron Jordan, a longtime Saints edge rusher with 132 career sacks.
“The Dallas Cowboys could be a fit for Jordan, too,” Zach Pressnell wrote. “They could pivot to the more affordable Jordan in an attempt to open their Super Bowl window a bit wider this season.”
“It could make sense. The fact that Jordan isn't likely to land a big deal makes it even more realistic.”

Jordan has spent 15 seasons in New Orleans and has been one of the strongest pass rushers in the league, recording almost 500 solo tackles in his career.
But he has also made it clear that staying there is not guaranteed.
“Of course, I'd love to be in New Orleans,” Jordan said. “But at the same time, if the cents doesn't make sense, then we have to find our own path.”
That opens the door for a move. For Dallas, this is not just about adding a name; it's about finding someone who can still produce and support the current group, which brings focus to what he can offer right now.
What Cameron Jordan Could Bring To Dallas Right Now
There's no surprise that the Dallas Cowboys missed a leader-like figure in defence last season, such as Micah Parsons. No player on their roster had more than 8.5 sacks, which shows how much help they need on the edge.
On the other side, Cameron Jordan showed last season that he can still do that at a high level.
In 2025, he recorded 10.5 sacks, his first double-digit season since 2021. That came after a quieter stretch where he had just 14.5 sacks combined over the previous three years.
That kind of production would have led Dallas last season. No player on their roster had more than 8.5 sacks, which shows how much help they need on the edge.
Financially, this move also makes sense. A projected one-year deal around $6.7 million keeps things flexible while adding experience to the defense.
It also does not affect their long-term plans. The Cowboys can still draft a young pass rusher while getting short-term help from a veteran.
At last, this is about fit. Dallas needs pressure off the edge, and Jordan has shown he can still deliver. If both sides see value, this could be a move that fills a clear gap for the team.
