Skip Bayless didn’t hold back after Maxx Crosby slipped away from the Dallas Cowboys. Now, he’s pointing to a bold replacement for Micah Parsons, and it’s already turning heads.
After missing on the Maxx Crosby deal, NFL analyst Skip Bayless has suggested that the Dallas Cowboys must pursue defensive end (DE) Myles Garrett for their 2026 NFL campaign.
“If I ran the Browns right now, there’s no way I’m gonna trade the best pass rusher in football because it’s too hard to find that guy,” Bayless said. “This guy is better than Micah Parsons...because he does play the run, he does set the edge, he does everything.”
For Bayless, if Garrett is truly available for his release from the Cleveland Browns, then signing him to the Cowboys can do wonders for their defensive roster.
After losing Micah Parsons last year, the immediate impact on the Dallas defense was evident. To make things worse, the franchise missed out on Maxx Crosby earlier in the offseason.
The 30-year-old DE Myles Garrett was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 2017 NFL draft out of Texas A&M as a 1st round and 1st overall pick.

In the past season, he played for 17 games and stands at a Pro Football Focus (PFF) grade of 92.7. He also broke the NFL's record for most sacks in a season last year with 23.
After restructuring his deal in March 2026 by deferring option bonuses, Garrett is no longer untouchable, he is suddenly a real trade possibility if Cleveland chooses to pivot.
Bayless further added that the accolades that Myles Garrett has are living proof of why he is such a great player.
Myles Garrett Comparison Puts Micah Parsons and Maxx Crosby Debate Into Perspective
When we stack up Micah Parsons and Maxx Crosby opposite Myles Garrett, the numbers already show the difference.
Micah Parsons posted a 92 PFF grade across 707 snaps in 14 games with 19 tackles and no interceptions, pointing to a high-impact but more pass-rush-focused role.
Maxx Crosby, meanwhile, had a 79.7 PFF grade over 935 snaps in 15 games, added 45 solo tackles and even intercepted once, showing more involvement across downs and a heavier workload.
Myles Garrett still outshines both these players with his historic numbers.
Most importantly, Garrett spent his college days at Texas and hails from Texas, making a homecoming all the more exciting for the NFL world.
