The Dallas Cowboys got a strong preseason showing from an unexpected name as Camden Brown made his case for a roster spot against the Seattle Seahawks. The undrafted receiver from Georgia Southern caught all three of his targets for 62 yards and two touchdowns, with both scores coming on difficult catches.
Brown had to battle a defender and go up for the ball on his first score, while the second required his effort, hands, and concentration to finish the play.
"The game's not too big for him," Schottenheimer said. "He does it every day in practice," Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said on August 16.

The Cowboys already have CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Ryan Flournoy and KaVontae Turpin in the receiver room, which could make regular season opportunities harder to find.
"He's been doing that the whole time. What I love about him is he does the little things, too. You can watch him on special drills, things like that; he realizes that's how you make this football team," Schottenheimer said on August 16, according to analyst Todd Archer.
Brown has still earned reps with both first- and second-team offense during practice, according to the Landry Hat.
His ability to make contested catches and create separation has also kept him in the conversation throughout training camp.
For an undrafted rookie, Brown has already given the Cowboys plenty to consider. His preseason debut only added more attention to a roster battle that could continue through the rest of August.
Still, there was more to Brown's standout performance than his fight for a place on the Cowboys' roster.
Did Camden Brown have any extra motivation during his big Cowboys debut?
Camden Brown's preseason debut for the Dallas Cowboys came with plenty at stake, but there was also a personal reason behind his performance.
The undrafted Georgia Southern receiver wore a chain with a picture of himself and his late sister Kaden, who died from kidney failure on August 13, 2021, at 17, according to Sports Illustrated.
"This past week was kind of a little rough for me because August 13th, 2021, was when she passed away. Just living through her every single day, and I feel like she lived through me today. So that's just an exciting thing," Brown said, per Jeff Kolb of FOX4.
Just two days after the fifth anniversary of her passing, Brown caught three passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns in Dallas' 17-7 win over Seattle.
He also talked about what Kaden meant to him.
"My little sister right here, she's proven everybody wrong, so that's just who I am. People say she wasn't gonna make it past 3. She still proved people wrong, and she lived to 17 years old," Brown added.
Brown's debut was about more than football, with Kaden's memory giving the night a deeper meaning as he continued his fight for a Cowboys roster spot.
Could Brown really force his way onto the Cowboys' 53-man roster? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
