Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady gave a glowing assessment of the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, putting an end to one of the NFL’s oldest debates about who has the better passing talent.
During a recent episode of the Stick to Football show on the Overlap YT channel on June 22, Brady endorsed his former rival’s passing ability, stating that he is one of the best passers in the league.
“I love Aaron, “ Brady said. “I think there's no greater passer of the football than Aaron Rodgers. I mean, there are certain people, you're like, you see everyone do it, and then you see one person throw the ball that much better."

Brady's passer rating stands at 97.2, while Rodgers' career passer rating of 102.2 is the highest in NFL history, which was recently tied by the Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (102.2)
"I mean, Aaron Rodgers was incredible," Tom Brady said during the same episode of the Stick to Football show. "He’s hard to put into words, how incredible he passes the ball. The ball, the way it comes out of his hand, the way that it spins and delivers with the pace and with the accuracy.”
Rodgers is often compared to legends like Peyton Manning and Drew Brees for deep passing accuracy, and Brett Favre for his improvisational throws from unique positions.
Brady's legacy is built on multiple Super Bowl titles and postseason success. While Rodgers boasts raw arm talent, four-time NFL MVP wins, and ranks among the top in passing yards and touchdown passes, according to Jhelum Mehta of Sportsnaut.
Rodgers and Brady have played against each other five times: four regular seasons and one playoff game (2020 NFC Championship). Overall, Brady holds a head-to-head record of 3-2 against Rodgers.
While Brady continues to praise Rodgers' passing ability, not everyone is convinced that his elite talent is enough to make him the right QB for the Steelers in 2026.
NFL analyst believes the Steelers made the wrong call on Aaron Rodgers
Seth Walder of ESPN believes that the Steelers made their biggest move by re-signing Rodgers to the Steelers, rather than letting a younger QB play as a starter.
"There is strength to this roster, but the reason the Steelers are a long shot to contend for the AFC crown in 2026 is their quarterback," Seth Walder of ESPN wrote in his article. "He is one of the all-time greats, but the last time he was even an above-average NFL quarterback was five years ago (granted, he was the MVP that season)."
Though the Steelers wanted to have an edge with a veteran addition to the team, Walder believes that Rodgers' chances of getting back to his prime level of production, which he recorded five years ago with the Green Bay Packers, are thin.
Just like last year, 42-year-old Rodgers will be the oldest quarterback entering the league in 2026. He will turn 43 before the season ends.
Heading into his 22nd season in the league with the Pittsburgh Steelers for 2026, the ten-time Pro Bowler has another opportunity to prove his ability to win at the highest level.
