The Dallas Cowboys are entering the 2026 season with high expectations, and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb could be at the center of something special in Dallas.

According to Dallas Cowboys staff writer Tommy Yarrish, Lamb believes his connection with George Pickens can become even stronger in 2026, adding to Dallas’ hopes of making a Super Bowl run.

“We can be real, real vicious together,” Lamb said. “And I know that, he knows that. Every day we strive to do it. We’ve had a lot of success together, but I know there’s much more out there for us.”

When Dallas acquired Pickens before the 2025 season, Lamb made it his mission to integrate the new receiver. Their relationship has grown since then, according to Tommy Yarrish of Dallas Cowboys Report.

Lamb said they compete in route-running drills and film sessions while also talking about football and life, helping them build trust both on and off the field. Their competitive nature reflects the similar “alpha mentality” Lamb believes helps both receivers push each other.

Their numbers from last season show why Lamb sees more potential in the duo. Pickens finished with 93 receptions for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns, while Lamb had 75 catches for 1,077 yards and three touchdowns. Together, they put up 2,506 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Cowboys’ Super Bowl hopes come with one clear area to improve. After allowing a franchise-record 511 points in 2025, Dallas will need a stronger defense under new coordinator Christian Parker to make a serious Super Bowl push in 2026.

Lamb and Pickens have another season to build on their success, but while the Cowboys eye a deeper Super Bowl run, keeping both receivers beyond 2026 could be a different challenge.

Dallas Cowboys face a tough call on CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens

The Cowboys could face a tough decision over their receiving duo after 2026. Executive vice president Stephen Jones discussed the issue with Jeff Cavanaugh, Jesse Holley and Clarence Hill on the @DLLS Sports YouTube podcast.

“I don't know of any teams that really can pay two top receivers top of the market,” Jones said on the @DLLS Sports YouTube video. “So that's gonna be a real difficult situation as we move forward.”

For now, Dallas has pushed that conversation into 2027. Pickens is playing the 2026 season on a $27.298 million franchise tag, giving the Cowboys another season before they have to make a longer-term decision on his future.

Jones also revealed that Pickens wants to put together consecutive productive seasons before entering the next stage of his contract situation.

“George is really wanting to put back-to-back years on top of one another so it'll help his market,” Jones added.

That could leave Dallas with a major financial decision after the 2026 season. With Pickens looking to strengthen his market value, the Cowboys may have to decide whether they can afford to keep both receivers at top-of-the-market prices.
